Is it possible to simulate an image through GALLIST and MKOBJECTS that has spiral arms? This is what I have tried:
artdata\$this->_split2($m[0]) gallist galaxy1.dat egal=0 xmax=1000 xmin=0 ymax=1000 ymin=0
Number of galaxies in the output list (20): 500
artdata\$this->_split2($m[0]) mkobjects galaxy1 obj=galaxy1.dat ncols=1000 nlines=1000
As well as:
artdata\$this->_split2($m[0]) gallist galaxy2.dat egalmix=0
Number of galaxies in the output list (20): 30
artdata\$this->_split2($m[0]) mkobjects galaxy2 obj=galaxy2.dat ncols=1000 nlines=1000
However, looking at the images, there do not appear to be any galaxies with obvious face-on spiral arms.
Is there any ways to simulate such galaxies?

You might try playing a bit with the 'eradius' and 'sradius' parameters, but I don't think you'll get anything with obvious arms such as the dev$pix test image. You could also try just placing scaled versions of dev$pix into a blank image and using that as the starting point for MKOBJECTS but I've never tried it myself.
