Hi,
I installed ds9.linux64.7.3.2 under Fedora 22 (64-bit), and when I run ds9 I get:

./ds9: error while loading shared libraries: libXss.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

However, the library is already installed in /usr/lib

I'd appreciate some help.

thanks

Try doing

% sudo yum install libXScrnSaver

to install the missing dependency. I know, it doesn't make sense ......

Thanks Fitz,

I've already did that, and nothing happens.

The package "libXScrnSaver-1.2.2-8.fc22.i686" indicates the 32-bit version was installed, not the 64-bit. The library should be in /usr/lib64/libXss.so.1 and may be a symlink to some more specific version. To force the 64-bit installation try

% sudo yum install libXScrenSaver-1.2.2.x86_64

The command "ldd ds9" will list the dynamic libraries required and should be looking in /usr/lib64 for most of them.

Try the more specific package name, i.e.

% sudo yum install libXScrnSaver-1.2.2-8.fc22.x86_64

If you Google for it you'll find an rpm to download you can install directly.
