Hello,
I want to make a CMD for NGC419. I went through daofind, phot, psf, and allstar. Then I matched the stars using the Linux program "match". But when I plotted the CMD with the Matlab function scatter, it looked very strange. When I magnified the plot, there were many vertical lines. And when I magnified it more, it looked like this:
. . . . . . . . .
. . . . . . . . .
. . . . . . . . .
. . . . . . . . .
. . . . . . . . .
. . . . . . . . .
Other people in my group said I must have set some discrete variables when doing photometry, but I don't know where went wrong. The parameters are as follows:
\$this->_split2($m[0])daofind ***.fits
FWHM of features in scale units:2.5
Standard deviation of background in counts:0.005
Detection threshold in sigma:4.
Minimum good data value:INDEF
Maximum good data value:INDEF
\$this->_split2($m[0])phot ***.fits
Centering algorithm:none
Sky fitting algorithm:mode
Inner radius of sky annulus in scale radius:10.
Width of the sky annulus:10.
File/list of aperture radii in scale units:3.
Standard deviation of background in counts:0.005
Minimum good data value:INDEF
Maximum...:INDEF
\$this->_split2($m[0])psf ***.fits
Analytic psf function:gauss
Order of variable psf:0
Psf radius in scale units:11.
Fitting radius in scale units:3.
Minimum good data value:INDEF
Maximum...:INDEF
\$this->_split2($m[0])allstar ***.fits
Recenter the stars:yes
Use group sky values:yes
Refit the sky:no
Psf radius in scale units:11.
Fitting radius in scale units:3.
Maximum group size in number of stars:60
Minimum good data value:INDEF
Maximum...:INDEF
Please tell me where is wrong. Thanks very much!
