[Moderator's Note: Forwarded from Story submission]

I have the version 2.7.8 of RVSAO installed (November 2009)

I can't edit nor see the parameters of the task BCVCORR (a task included in RVSAO to correct radial velocities) and I can't even run the task with the usual usage: "bcvcorr spectrum"

It always shows the following error message:

task 'bcvcorr' has no param file
called as: 'eparam (bcvcorr)'

Could my problem be due to my version of RVSAO?

A "has no param file" message usually means there was an error in defining the package directory, most commonly because the trailing '/' was missing. For example, your hlib$extern.pkg file should have a line like:

reset rvsao = /iraf/iraf/extern/rvsao/ <--- trailing '/' required

If you're using IRAF v2.16 and installed the package with "make rvsao" let me know.

Thank you, but if that was the case, then EMSAO and XCSAO tasks wouldn't be working either, and they are perfectly working. The only task I can't use is BCVCORR.

I am using IRAF v2.16 but I didn't install the package with "make rvsao"

Ahhh, now I remember. The package builder was accidently stripping the parameter file from the source installation. This has been fixed, just do a new "make rvsao" in the /iraf/iraf/extern directory to reinstall.
