Hello all:

anybody know if it is possible to launch iraf (ecl) with an .cl script file as an argument from the command line. For example, from a xterm:

myuser@mycomputer:~\$this->_split2($m[0]) ecl

I know you can run .cl scripts from IRAF shell, but I'd like to run a .cl script from the bash shell.

Any idea ?

Upss, I mean :

myuser@mycomputer:~\$this->_split2($m[0]) ecl

I assume your post was truncated and that the '<' sign got cut off, and that you are trying to run a script as

% ecl < script.cl

See the other post about running a script like this under Yosemite and problems caused by the redirection. Note that when you write a script as a #!cl script (see http://iraf.noao.edu/iraf/web/new_stuff/cl_host.html) you can essentially create a host command out of the script but it will also be reading the $HOME/.iraf/login.cl file so the problem with the 'stty xgterm' may still apply. Otherwise, you can run scripts like this from either Bash or C-shells.
