Hello,
I want to reduce OSIRIS/GTC data using standard routines of IRAF. OSIRIS images are composed of 3 layers, where the first is the header and the reamaining are the CCDs data. When I want to apply ccdproc to the images, for example images=image[1], output=temp. I get the following error message:
ERROR: Size of DATASEC and CCDSEC do not agree
I checked the header image and I found the following info:
CCDSIZE = '[1:2048,1:4102]' / CCDSize
CCDSEC = '[1:2048,1:4102]' / CCD Section
AMPSEC = '[1:2048,1:4102]' / AMP Section
DATASEC = '[26:1049,1:2051]' / Data Section
DETSEC = '[1:2048,1:4102]'
Anybody knows how can I solve this issue?. The images were taken in 2x2 binning mode.
Thank before hand ... If someone knows a specific package to reduce these data I will be thankful.

I don't have a specific answer for you, however in the past the CIRRED package has been used to reduce OSIRIS data, you can find more information about this package at http://www.ctio.noao.edu/instruments/ir_instruments/datared.html
Otherwise, the HEDIT task can be used to manually edit the value of the CCDSEC keyword. I don't believe there is a way for CCDPROC to automatically apply a binning value, I think it assumes the header keywords already account for this. Hope this helps.

Hello again,
I am using a mosaic routine available for GTC spectra, and then I am reducing these mosaic images. However, when I need to normalize each flat, in order to apply it to the spectrum, I have to cut these mosaic images (using imcopy) and work every spectrum by separated. After using response routine over the flats, the ccdproc routine gives error once again with the info of DATASEC when I try to apply the normalized flats to the spectra. Indeed, there is no info about DATASEC recorded in the header of the cut images ... what parameters should I add with hedit? ... I tried to add the same info that CCDSEC has, but it also did not work.
