I thought this task would be included in v2.16, which I just installed, but I can't actually find it. See Sect. 5 here:

Any idea what's going on or how I can get it to work?

The task is included in the system but was put there for "safe keeping" rather than as a general task. You can declare it for use with the command
cl\$this->_split2($m[0]) task hireswcal = onedspec$hireswcal.cl
You can add this task definition to the onedspec$onedspec.cl file to make it permanent.
