Reduction of long-slit spectra.
When you run the task RESPONSE to flat averaged (dome or lamp) a function is necessary to fit in the direction of the dispersion.
I want to know that criteria used to select the function and order.
Of course that if I choose a spline3 order 34, I'll have a fit with an RMS of 8.
I am thinking of a criterion that contemplate the RMS in relation to the ADU of each row or perhaps consider the resolution in \AA/px.
