We're having a problem displaying images taken with our new imager using IRAF 2.16.1 and the latest version (7.2) of ds9. I'm having the same problem on my MacBook Air as I am on the Mac Pro at the telescope; both are running IRAF 2.16.1 and OSX 10.9.2.
When I display an image using IRAF's "display" command into ds9, the x and y coordinates reported by ds9 are incorrect, and as a result if I use "imexamine" I get garbage.(For instance, a radial plot doing "r" is clearly not on the right star.) However, if I display the same image into ximtool, everything works fine. Furthermore, if I use load the image directly into ds9 by using ds9's file--\$this->_split2($m[0])open menu, the x and y's are fine and I can then run imexamine.
Thoughts? Just in case the issue is something in the header of our images, I've put an example at http://www.lowell.edu/users/massey/lmi.0036.fits
I have set stdimage=imt4096
thanks!

DS9 v7.2 is known to be broken, reports are that things have been fixed in the most recent release/beta from SAO.
