I have been analyzing spectra using splot and have identified specific emission lines I want to focus my research on. I know it is entirely possible to zoom in on these features to analyze them but I was wondering if there was any way I can cut these features out and save them as a new file entirely?
I then want to export the data from these cropped spectra so that I get a table of Wavelength and Flux values for just that peak (it is not necessary for me to look at the rest of the spectrum). I have used xtextimage to export the Flux values of the whole spectrum but it didn't give me the corresponding wavelength values, so was wondering if there was another task that might be more useful.
Any advice on how I can go about this? Thanks.

Try SCOPY to extract the regions you're interested in, then WSPECTEXT to write them out. A simple script to loop over many images can do this quickly.

Thanks a lot, will give this a go and post back if I run into difficulties.
