Hi,
hopefully this is a simple question but I'm not able to find an answer anywhere online. I have a script that takes a set of 2D fits files, writes them out to 1D, and then write that out to a data file using wspectext. The data file goes in descending wavelength order. Next, I take a subset of those fits files and combine them using scombine, write them out as a 1D fits files, and write that out to a text file again using wspectext. However, after using scombine, the data file now goes in ascending wavelength order. This would not normally be a problem, but I'm using these files later in another program where positions in the data file are used instead of wavelengths and the files do not match up. Is there a way to have wspectext write out in reverse wavelength order?

Thank you!
Candace

My first quick thought is that you use image sections to flip the image when calling WSPECTEXT, e.g.

cl\$this->_split2($m[0]) wspectext spec.fits[-*]

If that doesn't work, then you can use SCOPY with the 'rebin' parameter set to copy the spectrum to the exact 'w1' and 'w2' wavelength endpoints, setting w1 \$this->_split2($m[0]) w2 might also flip the image.
