Hi.
Strange problem with new install of 2.16.1 on a Linux workstation.

photcal.fitparams will not let me select points with the cursor to delete. It deletes the left-most point independent of where the cursor is. I ran specred.splot on the same machine and it seems to read cursor (x,y) fine.

I took the same input files to 2.16.1 on a Mac (also 64 bit) and it ran fine.

I can confirm that. It's quite annoying ;-) Also, other graph zooming keys do not work (except :w y and :w a). I haven't tried with older IRAF versions but now it seems that there could be point to try.

i am also having this problem, which is definitely annoying! ive tried a few things, reading the cursor position in the window gives correct coordinates but it still will only delete the left-most point... i am running on a mac after having applied the segmentation error fix mentioned in other posts related to fitparams.

did you find any solution?

thanks, Ted

Any updates on this issue? I am having the same problem, but I can't find a solution. I am on a 64-bit mac. I have found that the v2.16.1 macintel version of fitparams (x_photcal.e) returns a segmentation fault so I tried the 32bit version. The macosx (x_photcal.e) version does appear to work except for the cursor commands. In particular, the delete/undelete always goes to the left-most point and the window resize "e" does not work right.

I tried using the macosx (v2.16 32bit) x_photcal.e version ftp://iraf.noao.edu/iraf/v216/support/macosx/x_photcal.e and it appears to have the same cursor problem, but otherwise works. The 2.16 macintel version kind of works, but only if the transformation equation equations defined in the params file don't include any numbers. That is:
UFIT : mU = (UB + BV + V) + u1 + u2 * (0.5*(XU+XCool-1.5) + u3 * UB + u4 * UB * (0.5*(XU+XCool-1.5) always returns u2 and u4 as
zero when fitting, however,
UFIT : mU = (UB + BV + V) + u1 + u2 * (XU) + u3 * UB + u4 * UB * (XU) works just fine.

Summary of fitparams (x_photcal.e) on my particular Mac 64-bit...
v2.16.1 macintel segmentation fault
v2.16.1 macosx math works, cursor does not (delete/undelete/resize)
v2.16 macintel math does not work correctly for some equations, but the cursor works like it should
v2.16 macosx math works, cursor does not (delete/undelete/resize)
