I'm running IRAF 2.16 on a MacBook Pro, OS X 10.7.3 and have downloaded fortran. I'm trying to get an executable for a program called trans in file trans.f. When I type fc trans.f I get ttools> fc trans.f
trans.f:
MAIN trans:
gcc: error trying to exec 'as': execvp: No such file or directorya trans.c file is produced, but not trans.o or trans.e files.I haven't used fortran in a while so don't know if compiling has changed or???Thanks, Donna Weistrop

The 'as' is the assember which I suspect may require that you install the Code Tools from Apple or some other GCC distribution. What you may have is simply the Fortran front-end but you're still missing GCC from the machine.
