While running the daophot process I encounter a rather weird result of the allstar routine. When I plot the mag-mag_err of the sources as derived from the image.mag file (output of phot) I get a reasonable result (see image-mag.png) with sources that have errors up (or even larger than) 1mag (I select to plot those with magerr<1). But when I do the same with the image.als (output of the allstar) I get a plot where only sources with magerr upt to 0.55mag are kept. And this is consistent not only through all iterations of daophot process (after subtracting the initial image and redoing the daophot process to detect fainter sources) but also with different fields. This sharp cut at magerr=0.55mag remains unaffected. I tried to include also the epadu and readnoise parameters without any change. I cannot understand what should I change in order to fix it.
