scopy retains the original value of CRVAL1 after extracting a subregion of a spectrum, providing a pixel offset (CRPIX1) to compensate for the wavelength difference. I need to feed these spectra into an application that depends on having a value of CRVAL1 corresponding to the first pixel of the extracted spectrum. I had hoped that some option within wcsreset might allow this conversion, but apparently not. Is there any task that will take care of this? These spectra are dispersion corrected without rebinning, which may complicate the issue.
