Hi Mike,We have just installed IRAF on a several OS X Leopard machines for my observing class (from scisoft, in full disclosure). All works well except for xgterm printing. In the ecl window, lprint works fine for text files, but :.snap goes nowhere from the xgterm graphing window. I get the notice at the bottom ":.snap - done" but nothing happens. I have the default lp setting in login.cl; is there somewhere that xgterm is looking for printing instructions? Thanks very much,
Karen

Hi Karen,Most likely: the 'sgidispatch' command link wasn't installed. This is used to call the iraf graphics to e.g. postscript converter and should be a symlink to $iraf/unix/bin.<arch>/sgidispatch.e in the same directory as the 'cl' and 'mkiraf' commands (normally /usr/local/bin).For SciSoft, this link is in e.g. /scisoft/bin so another possibility is that the path defined in your .cshrc (or .bashrc) doesn't include this directory. I'd recommend you add the path directly rather than source any SciSoft setup files (which could slow performance of foreign commands).Cheers,
-Mike

Thanks, Mike! This kindled a vague memory from 2006, when I think I asked you this very question during a prior installation! I tried the link in the dir where the actual .csh files were for mkiraf and cl, but it didn't work. Finally I tried it in the dir where there are links for cl and mkiraf, and it did work. Many, many thanks!
