A critical bug was discovered in the V2.14 release that affects all tasks or packages linked against v2.14. A new patched set of binaries for all platforms was released in response to fix this problem and ALL users are strongly encouraged to update their binaries as soon as possible. The problem affects the imloop() procedure in the image i/o interface that is used to loop over image sections when processing an image. In some cases, this looping was not being done correctly and zero or garbage pixel values could be returned in the last two pixels of a 1-D image section (e.g. a row). This lead to reported problems of "black stripes" across images processed with XREGISTER and is suspected in a number of other reports. If you installed V2.14 [b:9d39397f32]on or before[/b:9d39397f32] Jan14 we strongly suggest you re-install the IB and NB binary distributions ASAP. A full re-installation is not required at this time, however an updated AS distrubution is also available that fixes a set of missing parameters for the IMEDIT task. Additionally, a bug in the timezone setting for sites currently on DST was also fixed in this patch release. Because of the limited scope of the fixes a version number change has not been made.If you downloaded and installed IRAF V2.14 [b:9d39397f32]after[/b:9d39397f32] Jan14 no action is required. We're sorry for the inconvenience, please report additional problems here or in the forums.-Mike

I have just installed the bugfix version of Jan 14. When I run the install script, it complains about a missing 'wtar.e' file. Otherwise this new version does indeed appear to fix the problem I described in my post "ccdproc causes problems with dohydra". Thanks!

Ooops, I built the AS distro from a machine that wasn't sync'd up properly. Should be fixed now, the AS will contain the wtar.e for all archs.-Mike

Hi, sorry to be a pain, but I was wondering when a port of version 2.14 for Solaris would be available...

That's been slipped a little due to higher priority projects with hard deadlines and some staffing changes. It'll be at least March but almost certainly before the ADASS Proceedings appear 8-)Cheers,
-Mike
