After trying to do a xc on some files I always get this error message:xc -c -w classif.x clasy.f deviate.x devie.f ellipfit.x harmfit.x photsub.f listdel.x listl.f modl.x mod.f modmag.x modm.f pixlist.x pixlt.f
*** glibc detected *** free(): invalid next size (normal): 0x080e9dc8 ***
AbortIn the past this was working so there is not error in the .x and .f files (they are the same as in the past).

Sounds like you're using the newer and pickier GCC 4.0
compilers. You can add a "-dv" flag to XC to have it print verbose debug information to try to find out which file is
throwing the error, or else compile them by hand individually.
The flags will also show which sub-parts of XC are being
executed and since the message appears to be a runtime
error from XC it will tell you which of xpp/rpp/F2C etc is
throwing the error.Once you find that out also please post your system details,
e.g. OS version, gcc/glibc version etc.-Mike

even if I just type 'xc' I get the same error message (xv -dv does not help). However I compiled it a computer of a collegae with another version of the linux operating system and there was no problem there. I copied the executables to my system again and now it works. (the compilation problem is of course still there)
