Hi,
I am trying to install the iraf mtools package (designed by Jack Baldwin for the reduction of Magellan MIKE spectra) on a Dell laptop running ubuntu 14.04.
I followed Phil Massey's instructions in how to compile the tasks by editing the *.mak files provided in the package. They compliled without errors but when I try to run the tasks I got immediately the iraf prompt back and nothing happens (no new images are created).
I have used for years that package on MIKE and MagE data reduction on a 32-bit laptop running an old Fedora version, but this is a new 64-bit machine,
I'd very much appreciate if someone can give ma an idea of what may be going on.
Thanks!
Nidia
