Subject: hello again!

Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=US-ASCIIHi Jeanette,
do you remmeber me? It is Orsola who used to bother you about the echelle
package...I have another problem and I was wondering if you could help me, or if
you knew of anyone who could...I am using noao.imred.ccdred.cosmicrays to clean an hst image of cr's.
I have been fiddling with both 'threshold' and 'fluxratio' parameters,
but whatever I do the output image seems to preserve the cosmic rays
almost intact. If I take the DIFFERENCE of the 2 images (before and after
the cleaning) I can tell that the operation 'cosmicrays' DID do something
because in the result of such DIFFERENCE one can see all the cosmic rays
there... but it is like if the operation is not quite doing enough, it is
only dimming the cosmicrays, not removing them...A better way to eliminate cr's is to compare 2 exposures of the same
image, but unluckly I do not have them, so I really have to make do with
'cosmicrays'.Do you know a solution for this problem, or do you know of anything who
does?Thank you very much for your help,Orsola.
