Subject: ThanksFrank,Thanks alot for your help, interest and patience in my
conquering of spectroscopy as an amateur. This project
has consumed me. My bedroom looks likes a bombed
library. I couldnt even pronounce spectroscopy correct
3 years ago, let alone I kept mixing the IR with the UV.
I should send you my manuscript that myself and the other
amateurs are collaborating into a book. [ Give me an address]Have a good trip to India. What will you be lecturing
about ? How did you end up in India ? Send me a postcard ?I think I'll take you up on the RSPECTEXT script.
The more the merrier.
How large is it ? Also is it easy to install ?
Can you toss in the help file with it also.
Please email this to my OTHER email address, yes I
have three....This one is VASTRO@PHYSICS.RUTGERS.EDU,
along with GEORG76871@aol.com.
I have access to computers in my backyard at Rutgers...Keep in touchGeorge

Subject: Re: ThanksHi George,I would be quite intereseted in any material your group is preparing
to help people understand spectroscopy. I have to prepare such material
and it is useful to see how other people explain some of the concepts.I will be lecturing about spectroscopy (what else). I will cover
types of spectra and concentrate on data reduction of the common
optical spectra; long slit, multifiber, and echelle.RSPECTEXT is not a long script and it is easy enough to install and has
a help page. I will mail it separately to your Rutgers address.Cheers,
Frank Valdes

Subject: Re: Here are some referencesHi George,Thanks for the info. Stuff doesn't need to forwarded since I am
only traveling and taking vacation. We have both IBM and Macs
here for guest usage. Don't knock yourself out sending me stuff
though I would definitely like to see a preprint of your final
paper.Cheers,
Frank
