MODULE: astcalc
SYSTEM: V2.10-V2.11.2
SYSTEM: V2.10-V2.11.2
NUMBER: 437 MODULE: astcalc SYSTEM: V2.10-V2.11.2 DATE: Tue Aug 31 10:48:49 MST 1999 FROM: valdes BUG: When ASTCALC is run on more than one image at a time the image is incorrectly opened twice and only closed once. This has one consequence, if the list of images is large (greater than about 60) and they are in the Space Telescope Geiss format (the files with ??h and ??d extensions) then the task will run out of file descriptors with an error message such as ERROR: 757 noao/lib$obsdb.dat ERROR: 787 pix61.c0h4451ef The workarounds are 1) use smaller lists of images per execution, 2) change the image format to imh or fits, 3) run the task in a script loop using one image at a time. STATUS: Fixed for the next release.
